I'd take a minute to update the friends and family who check my blog.
He had four strokes in the days leading up to and including Thursday.
He had surgery to remove the block on Thursday evening after being
airlifted to Iowa City. We are very fortunate because the U of Iowa
Hospital is one of only a few in the nation does the type of cutting
edge operation he had, doctors come from all over to study with his
specific neurological team. The operation was a success and the
blockage was removed. Now he's sitting up, talking, can move his arms
and legs, and is cracking jokes. In a few hours he moves out of the
ICU, and we're hopeful he'll be home by Monday.
Dad was deeply touched to hear about all his friends who have been
visiting and calling, it means more to him and all of us than I can
properly express in words.
I'll be here until Teusday at the earliest. Avery an the baby are in
Dallas having fun daddy-daughter time.
